Hello My Horde,

I have some books I read that I want to share with you. Hopefully You will enjoy them as much as I did.,

The Heretic Queen:

Technically not part of a series. Here is the review:

This was my first audio book and I didn’t even voluntarily listen to it. I was at my mom’s to watch my little sis while she went to work cause she got called on her off day. She had it playing in the other room and before I realized it I was completely drawn in. Thankfully when she got home she was fine with it loaded at the wrong part. 😆.

Now this is my first Historical fiction novel, and I am so in love with it. It started me into the genre and I have no regrets what so ever. Her other books are on my TBR list which is already to big on Goodreads. 😆

Note: this is not a smutt but does have sex scenes.

Synopsis:

In ancient Egypt, a forgotten princess must overcome her family’s past and remake history.

The winds of change are blowing through Thebes. A devastating palace fire has killed the Eighteenth Dynasty’s royal family—all with the exception of Nefertari, the niece of the reviled former queen, Nefertiti. The girl’s deceased family has been branded as heretical, and no one in Egypt will speak their names. A relic of a previous reign, Nefertari is pushed aside, an unimportant princess left to run wild in the palace. But this changes when she is taken under the wing of the Pharaoh’s aunt, then brought to the Temple of Hathor, where she is educated in a manner befitting a future queen.

Soon Nefertari catches the eye of the Crown Prince, and despite her family’s history, they fall in love and wish to marry. Yet all of Egypt opposes this union between the rising star of a new dynasty and the fading star of an old, heretical one. While political adversity sets the country on edge, Nefertari becomes the wife of Ramesses the Great. Destined to be the most powerful Pharaoh in Egypt, he is also the man who must confront the most famous exodus in history.

Sweeping in scope and meticulous in detail, The Heretic Queen is a novel of passion and power, heartbreak and redemption.

Uglies:

Book one Review:

I have a complicated relationship with this book series. Honest they are low on my list of books. I do not really like them I had so many issues with them. But the way they are written I kept reading them which highly irritates me. Mainly because the main character is very whiney.

Synopsis:

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can’t wait. In just a few weeks she’ll have the operation that will turn her from a repellent ugly into a stunning pretty. And as a pretty, she’ll be catapulted into a high-tech paradise where her only job is to have fun.

But Tally’s new friend Shay isn’t sure she wants to become a pretty. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world—and it isn’t very pretty. The authorities offer Tally a choice: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. Tally’s choice will change her world forever….

The Kane Chronicles:

Book one Review:

As with a lot of the series that he makes I love it. He is an author who can get you into his worlds regardless of your age. No, that’s not because I still enjoy my share of my childhood cartoons, more than the average adult. 😝 . I really like how this story (takes its time) but is bringing the children a little closer and better understanding each other. The little sister irked me at first but she better as it gets on.

Synopsis:

Since his mother’s death six years ago, Carter Kane has been living out of a suitcase, traveling the globe with his father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius Kane. But while Carter’s been homeschooled, his younger sister, Sadie, has been living with their grandparents in London. Sadie has just what Carter wants—school friends and a chance at a “normal” life. But Carter has just what Sadie longs for—time with their father. After six years of living apart, the siblings have almost nothing in common. Until now.

On Christmas Eve, Sadie and Carter are reunited when their father brings them to the British Museum, with a promise that he’s going to “make things right.” But all does not go according to plan: Carter and Sadie watch as Julius summons a mysterious figure, who quickly banishes their father and causes a fiery explosion.

Soon Carter and Sadie discover that the gods of Ancient Egypt are waking, and the worst of them—Set—has a frightening scheme. To save their father, they must embark on a dangerous journey—a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family and its links to the House of Life, a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.

Someone else you should look up, here's the synopsis.

They told him his uncle died in an accident. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, they said. But when fourteen-year-old Alex finds his uncle’s windshield riddled with bullet holes, he knows it was no accident.

What he doesn’t know yet is that his uncle was killed while on a top-secret mission. But he is about to, and once he does, there is no turning back. Finding himself in the middle of terrorists, Alex must outsmart the people who want him dead.

The government has given him the technology, but only he can provide the courage. Should he fail, every child in England will be murdered in cold blood.
