Let me tell you all about how I got into my loose leaf tea life.
New Begining
So I took my first steps in to this huge world of Loose leaf Teas as a way to get healthier. There are a lot of benefits to doing loose leaf tea and mixing your own together. It was a very overwhelming thing at first because I wanted to research all the things. Finally I decided to say forget it and jump into it.
Out of hand:
I started off with green tea, I went to my local Asian market because the nearest good apothecary was a little far. Honestly they had so many other options available than I thought. So while I went in there for a jar of green tea, thanks to ADHD and compulsive buying.
I also got:
Dried Rosebuds
Dried Jasmine
Dried Lavender
Dried Kunlun Chrysanthemum
Dried Chrysanthemum
Dried Mint
Dried Papaya
Dried Honey Wompee
Dried Ginger
Dried Honeysuckle Flower
Dried Peach Flower
And got side glares from SO, lol.
Then i had to:
Go home and look up everything I bought online. Took notes and started blending and experimenting with what I did or didn’t like. At what proportions, seeped for however long. I found out I like mine to seep for at least 30 min and everyone keeps suggesting less, but the amount of flavor at that point is really nice and smooth to me.
I also found out that with a few of these (lavender) less is more. Not only that but Dried peach Flowers are a better bathroom juice than I assumed. XD
Didn't Know:
What I wasn’t prepared for was how it would make tea bags taste absolutely revolting. I use a metal ball for my tea. So after doing this for almost a year I was at work one day really wanting to tea. So I shrugged and decided I’m not that bougie. Yeah well apparently my taste buds were. I never spit liquids out so fast. lol
